Central heating sludge is a build up of rust and steel/iron particles from the inside of your radiators. With most radiator manufacturers using primarily conductive metals like cast iron, aluminum, mild steel and stainless steel. When mixed with air and water this causes an obvious corrosive reaction creating the dreaded sludge we see in our systems today.

Are your radiators or some of the radiators cold at the bottom? This is a sign of sludge build up and causes a high percentage of that radiator to be inefficient. This in turn causes a hugh delay in the room reaching room temperature and so the boiler will continue firing USING MORE AND MORE GAS.

The magnacleanse flush targets the sludge by using strong magnets pulling it away from the heating water as it runs through the machine. We also vibrate the radiators to dislodge the compacted particles and give it a 3 cycle full day clean. This is followed up by a run test and finally a flush certification. The magnacleanse flush uses the same pressures your pipework and fittings are used to so is less evasive than a powerflush.

The Powerflush machine attaches directly to the Flow and return pipework of your heating system. We always try to use a convenient single point e.g the heating pump , system filter or radiator. The best practice is to always flush on pipework at its largest diameter (22mm or 28mm)

At Flush Doctor we carry out 2 full heating flush cycles and then target individual pipe legs and radiators. We do this whilst only using one flushing point and turning off individual radiators which enables us to flush sections of your heating system.
